The Territory Convention, meeting in Korda, adopted by a vote of 27 to 6 a motion establishing a Joint Committee on Transition Facts. The Constitution does not prescribe the Convention's terms of proceeding; the Convention retains authority to organize its own work, including the formation of committees, so long as no such committee's findings are treated as binding on, or a substitute for, the proposed resolution required under §15.5.a(3).
The Committee is charged with compiling freight-capacity data, fiscal transfer records, and transition-cost estimates applicable under either a whole-Territory Statehood resolution or a corridor merger resolution, for the use of all delegates regardless of position. The Committee's findings are advisory. They do not bind any delegate's vote and do not constitute a Convention resolution.
Co-Chairs: Delegate Jalen Mire (lake-corridor district) and Delegate Tomas Rell (inland district). Membership drawn from delegates representing corridor, interior, and unaligned districts. A complete membership roster will be filed separately upon the Committee's first organizing session.
This notice does not toll, pause, or extend the ninety-day period established under §15.5.a(3), which continues to run from the Convention's first session. Formation of this Committee does not constitute a proposed resolution and has no independent effect on the certified petitions before the Convention.
Filed to the NRS as required. Further notice will be filed upon the Committee's first substantive report or upon adoption of any proposed resolution, whichever occurs first.
End of record.
