The Elections Panel has begun notifying polling staff and premises managers that the Kelvant–Korda corridor referendum scheduled for Month 12, Day 8 will not take place. Notices directing residents to polling rooms are being replaced with notices explaining that the vote will not proceed.

The instruction follows the Joint Monitor Council's Month 11, Day 26 determination that the corridor merger petition and the whole-Korda statehood petition must enter the Territory Convention process together. The Panel said it was carrying out that determination. It has not announced another polling day.

For the offices that had been arranging the vote, the first task is reaching everyone who has already been told to turn up. Poll workers must be contacted, room bookings released, and the printed notices at those rooms changed. The Panel has asked local staff to check the physical notices as well as the electronic listing.

“People put the date on a calendar when we gave it to them,” a Panel spokesperson said. “Changing our own calendar does not change theirs.”

Ballot materials and the record of preparations are being retained. The two petitions remain certified; neither has been withdrawn. The administrative notice tells residents that the scheduled vote is not proceeding under §15.5.a(1), rather than describing either petition as rejected.

A corridor petition organizer said volunteers were now answering calls from signers who wanted to know whether they needed to sign again. “They did what we asked. They signed, they checked the date, some of them arranged time off. We can tell them their signatures still count. We cannot tell them when they get a ballot.”

The Convention will be composed of the Assembly members representing districts within Korda. Its ninety-day period begins at its first session. No first-session date has been announced, and the Council's filing did not start that period.

Asked whether the cancellation notices would carry a date for the next stage, the Panel said they would direct residents to the public record for further notices. The space previously occupied by Day 8 will not contain a new date.
